Review: Taking a different approach to the story, the author leans into the mysterious aspects and puzzles of the original novel which gives this sequel a fresh new take. By doing so, the narrative takes on a refreshing new perspective that keeps readers on the edge of their seats and entertained throughout. What truly sets this sequel apart is the in-depth exploration of one of the minor characters, Hamilton. The author does an excellent job shedding light on his inner turmoil and the complex dynamics within his family which gives the reader a better understanding of the character. Furthermore, the author's decision to steer clear of the conventional betrayal storyline is a welcome and refreshing take from its predecessors. In addition to the originality of the novel, the seamless transitions between different character perspectives offer an enjoyable reading experience as well as allowing the pacing of the novel to maintain itself. The only drawback while reading this novel was its lack of buildup as it unfolded, though despite the slower pacing the mysterious aspects helped keep the reader wanting more. Overall, this sequel not only pays homage to its predecessor but also manages to create its own unique identity in the continuation of the series, making it a must-read for fans of the original novel.
