Ranger's Apprentice: The Lost Stories

Updated: Mar 11, 2024

Summary: Book 11 in the Ranger's Apprentice series, a professor has found the missing stories of the ranger's of Araluen from centuries prior recounting their feats of bravery and loyalty to their king. This book consists of nine short stories set both before, during, and after the events of the series as answers to questions the author received from his fans while writing the Ranger's Apprentice.

Suggested age rating: 11+ based on violence and gore.

Review: This book was quite unique in its structure and short story collection as it seeks to answer several questions readers have posed to the author about certain aspects of the Ranger's Apprentice series. Though I did enjoy nearly all the stories, I was left feeling a little disappointed as it did not do a great job of concluding the series. This book in my opinion would be great to read during the series, not at the end. That being said, I loved reading the stories that filled in certain gaps in the series, it just left me unsatisfied as a big fan of all the previous books as it did nothing to have a complete ending for the first series.
